All things open(micro)stack

We want to run some worker VMs on our server to do some work, ie a “homelab.”

Openstack allows you to run VMs on your own hardware, billed as a “private cloud”. But we only have one single server for this purpose, and we don’t know much about openstack yet, so we’ll try out microstack instead.

• scripted single-node-install - this is an excellent step-by-step that (almost) works out of the box for bridging VMs into your main network interface, so that they can obtain and be addressed by IPs on the same LAN as the rest of your computer. Some modification is needed for your own gateway and ip address. Does not include gpu passthrough.
